Uma colisão que ocorreu no quilômetro 77 da Rodovia Arlindo Béttio (SP-613), no município de Presidente Epitácio/SP envolveu um caminhão Scania com placas de Campo Grande/MS que tracionava dois conjuntos semirreboques carregados com álcool etílico e um Chevrolet Ônix de Rosana/SP, resultou em uma vítima fatal.
De acordo com os registros da 2º Companhia do 2º Pelotão da Polícia Militar Rodoviária, sediada em Presidente Epitácio/SP, a equipe foi acionada por volta das 17 horas as segunda-feira (29/09) para atendimento de um sinistro de trânsito do tipo colisão transversal, com uma vítima fatal.
No local dos fatos, foi constatado que o caminhão estava carregado com o produto perigoso com risco 3 e, após colidir com o automóvel, o condutor do caminhão trator perdeu o controle da direção, vindo a tombar o conjunto sobre a via, incendiando-se em seguida.
O condutor do caminhão, ficou preso entre as ferragens da cabine do conduzido e foi a óbito no local.
A condutora do Ônix, uma mulher de 43 anos se feriu levemente e aceitou realizar o teste do etilômetro não sendo constatado nenhuma concentração de álcool no organismo.
Devido ao sinistro, foi feita a interdição total da rodovia por aproximadamente quatro horas, sendo o trânsito desviado para uma rota alternativa denominada estrada da Jacutinga.
A pista foi liberada parcialmente por volta de 21h, com o trânsito controlado por "pare e siga".
Equipes do corpo de bombeiros, do D.E.R. (Departamento de Estradas e Rodagens), do Policiamento Territorial, Policiamento Rodoviário, Defesa Cívil, Cetesb e Perícia Técnica da Polícia Civil compareceram ao local para realização dos trabalhos e apoio.
