A Defesa Civil do Estado de São Paulo emitiu um alerta neste domingo (21) para o aumento significativo do risco de incêndios florestais e queimadas nas regiões de Barretos, Ribeirão Preto, Araçatuba e Presidente Prudente.
De acordo com os meteorologistas, a combinação de temperaturas elevadas e baixos índices de umidade relativa do ar favorece a rápida propagação do fogo, principalmente em áreas de vegetação seca, rasteira e pastagens.
A população deve redobrar a atenção e adotar medidas preventivas, evitando qualquer prática que possa iniciar focos de incêndio, como queima de lixo, restos de poda ou uso de fogo para limpeza de terrenos.
A Defesa Civil reforça que provocar queimadas é crime ambiental, previsto na legislação brasileira, e pode trazer sérias consequências para a saúde da população, além de causar danos ao meio ambiente e à infraestrutura local.
Em caso de emergência, a orientação é acionar imediatamente o Corpo de Bombeiros (193) ou a própria Defesa Civil (199).
