A cidade de Florianópolis sediará, entre os dias 15 e 17 de outubro de 2025, o V Congresso Brasileiro de Redução de Riscos e Desastres (CBRRD). O evento, que acontecerá no Centro de Cultura e Eventos Reitor Luiz Carlos Cancellier de Olivo, no campus Trindade da UFSC, reunirá pesquisadores, gestores públicos, técnicos e representantes da comunidade em debates sobre gestão de riscos, desastres ambientais, mudanças climáticas, tecnologias de monitoramento, políticas públicas e integração entre saberes científicos e comunitários. Organizado pela Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (Udesc), pelo Centro de Estudos e Pesquisas em Desastres (Ceped), pela Pró-Reitoria de Extensão, Cultura e Comunidade da Udesc e pela Associação Brasileira de Pesquisa Científica, Tecnológica e Inovação em Redução de Riscos e Desastres (ABP-RRD), o congresso tem como objetivo fortalecer a troca de experiências e a construção de soluções inovadoras para reduzir a vulnerabilidade diante dos desastres. As inscrições já estão abertas e podem ser feitas pelo site oficial do evento, sendo permitida apenas uma inscrição por participante. Interessados também poderão submeter trabalhos acadêmicos e técnicos dentro dos prazos estabelecidos. O congresso é aberto ao público em geral e promete ser um espaço de referência nacional na promoção da cultura de prevenção e gestão de riscos.
