Um incêndio de grandes proporções atingiu áreas de canavial e de preservação permanente (APP) na região de Marabá Paulista e Caiuá, mobilizando diversas equipes durante toda a tarde de domingo.
A Defesa Civil de Marabá Paulista atuou intensamente no combate às chamas, contando com o apoio de brigadistas das usinas Ativos e Agrovence, além de funcionários de propriedades vizinhas que disponibilizaram caminhões-pipa e máquinas para conter o fogo.
Segundo a Defesa Civil, a área de canavial já foi controlada, evitando maiores danos. Na parte de APP, ainda há focos de incêndio, mas todos se encontram sob controle. O Corpo de Bombeiros concentrou esforços principalmente nessa região de preservação.
Para garantir segurança, uma equipe de plantão permaneceu no local com caminhão-pipa e motoniveladora, preparada para agir em caso de novos focos.
As causas do incêndio ainda não foram divulgadas.
